IDEAS

Overview

IDEAS will take place June 16-20, 2014

IDEAS (Inter-Disciplinary Explorations Across the Sciences) is a series of five-day academic camps for high school students to explore five areas of the sciences: agriculture, bio-medical sciences/environmental studies/chemistry, computer science, mathematics/statistics, or physics. Each individual camp is designed to give a college-level experience investigating each particular field. IDEAS provides a look into career options and college plans for those considering a future in these important areas of study. With fun explorations and activities to make each day a great experience, IDEAS is perfect for anyone interested in an excellent way to spend a week of summer!

Detailed information about the program, application process, and faculty leaders are provided below, or to the right under "Dig Deeper."  A few openings remain, so please apply as soon as possible.

What former participants are saying:

"IDEAS taught me many things about career choices I wasn't aware of. They did this through hands-on learning with great professors and other students my age. This made it a very fun, knowledgeable atmosphere. I also have to say that it was the most exciting, real-life college visit I have been on. I don't think I'll ever regret it because of the people I met and the things I learned." Madigan M.

"The lessons are interesting and fun, and spending time with new friends during various activities was an added bonus!" Jordan H.

"It made me see math in a different perspective—seeing how statistics are used in business and science and not just in a classroom." Nathan M.
