PRAIRIE GRASS CHALLENGE
Prizes and Awards

Cash, prizes, and the coveted "Dordty" Award will be given away at this year's Prairie Grass Film Challenge. Plus, winners in all categories will have the satisfaction of adding "Winner of the 2012 Prairie Grass Film Challenge" to their resumes.
All eligible films will be judged by the Prairie Grass Film Challenge panel of judges. This is an independent panel of film and video professionals and enthusiasts. The panel is comprised of people from various walks of life including—but not limited to—staff of Dordt College. Awards will be announced at the screening.
Films will be judged on both story and production values as well as adherence to genre.
NEW FOR 2013: All films will now be placed in FOUR categories: High School, College, Post-College, and 480-Hour Film.
Judges will choose the best film in each category.
Judging will result in selection for the following titles and prizes:

Judges will use the following criteria to select the Best of Show and Runner Up:
- Judges will look for the best overall film.
- Judges will look for entertainment value.
- Equal weight will be given to story and production values.
- Judges will look for Content Worth Consuming. Content deemed objectionable or strongly distasteful will not be considered for judging.
- Judges will also consider use of props, character, line of dialogue, and adherence to genre.
- Winners will be announced and prizes given the night of the screening.
Peoples' Choice Award
Judging for the Peoples' Choice Award is straightforward. Entries that do not win an award on the night of screening (number to be determined, based on submissions) will be posted on the Prairie Grass Film Challenge website. The one that garners the most votes on the web page by the deadline will be declared the winner. Winning team will receive $150 and the distinction of being the Peoples' Choice in the Prairie Grass Film Challenge.
