Dordt College Jazz Band, Campus-Community Band to perform

The Dordt College Jazz Band and the Campus-Community Band will present a concert at the B.J. Haan Auditorium on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 7:30 p.m.

The jazz band, directed by Norm Gaines, will feature two seasonal favorites, “Sleigh Ride” and “Winter Wonderland,” along with a variety of tunes from the Big Band Era.

Rachel Persenaire will be the featured vocalist in “Georgia” and “You Do Something to Me.” Other selections by the 20 member jazz band include “Get Me to the Church On Time,” “Papa’s Got a New Bag,” “Bluesette,” and Alexander’s Ragtime Band.”

The Dordt College Campus-Community Band, directed by Julie Hulstein, will also perform at this concert. This band is a blend of talented musicians from the community, high schools and Dordt College.

The concert is free and open to the public.
