Gibson to perform at Dordt College

Beverly Gibson, clarinet and bass clarinet performer, will present a recital at the B. J. Haan Auditorium at Dordt College on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 7:30 p.m.

Gibson has a DMA in clarinet performance and is adjunct instructor at Dordt College, as well as a professor at Augustana College. She graduated from Louisiana State University and received her Masterís Degree from the University of North Texas. Gibson also performs with the South Dakota Symphony and has been a member of numerous orchestras, trios, and jazz ensembles in Texas, Louisiana, New York and South Dakota.

On the program for the evening will be Introduktion und Polonaise by Edouard Dupuy; Sonatine by Arthur Honegger III; Konzert fur Klarinette und Orchester by Heinrich Sutermeister III; Sonate fur Bassklarinette und Klavier, Op. 41 by Othmar Schoeck III; Pop Suite by Daniel Hellbach, concluding with Swiss folk music selections. Accompanying Beverly Gibson will be Deanna Wehrspann, piano, with guest appearances by Gibsonís husband and five-year-old daughter.

There is no cost to attend this performance.
