Fokkema Added To Dordt Baseball

(Monday, June 9; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Brandon Fokkema,  a recently graduate of Tahoma High School (Washington), has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender baseball program.

Fokkema has pitched three seasons of varsity baseball and has thrown 107 innings and has a 3.59 earned run average with ten career wins and 90 career strikeouts.  During his junior and senior seasons he batted .358 with 21 runs batted in and batted .454 with runners in scoring position.  When he wasn’t pitching Fokkema was stationed in the outfield.  He earned second-team SPSL North honors as a junior and honorable mention accolades as a senior. 

Brandon is the son of Arnold and Stacey Fokkema of Maple Valley, Washington.  He plans to study pre-med and business while at Dordt College.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. Dordt’s athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). 

U.S. News & World Report,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,400 students.
