Dordt Golfs At Mount Marty Invite

Meet… Mount Marty will host an invitational on Thursday, May 1.  This meet will serve as a preview of sorts as Mount Marty will host GPAC #4 on Monday, May 5.

Last Time Out… The Dordt College women's golf team finished eighth at GPAC #3 hosted by Midland at Fremont Golf Club in Fremont, Nebraska on Wednesday, April 23.

The Defenders carded a 394 led by Renae Visser's 90 which was the 13th best score of the day. Kristin Stoffels carded a 100 and Kimberly Brumfield had a 101. Meredith Fopma had a 103 on a day where gusty winds ruled for Dordt's final counting score.

Concordia and Hastings were ten strokes in front of the Defenders and Morningside shot a 381. Dakota Wesleyan won the event with a 344 and Concordia's Amy Ahlers was the medalist with an 80.

Fremont Golf was set up for par-73 and 5,847 yards in length.

Last Time On This Course… Dordt College's women's golf team was fourth with a 360 on Monday at an invite hosted by Mount Marty in Yankton, South Dakota on Tuesday, April 17, 2012.

Dordt was led by Renae Visser and Justean De Groot with an 85 and 86 respectively. Visser's score was good for fourth overall. Kim Brumfield and Angela Johnson both kept their scores under 100 at 91 and 93.

Dordt was three shots off third place Mount Marty. Morningside, behind 78s by Sophie Peters and Taylor Kline, nipped Northwestern for first 335-336.

The Lineup… Dordt’s lineup this season is led by Renae Visser with an 85.6 average through ten rounds.  Kim Brumfield has a 91.5 average in ten rounds played and Raeann De Rousse and Kristin Stoffels have each played six and eight rounds with De Rousse averaging 99.3 shots per round and Stoffels is at 99.6.

After This… Dordt’s season will conclude on Monday, May 5 when they compete in GPAC #4 at Yankton, South Dakota.
