Dordt hosts showing of “Becoming Fools”

March 13, 2014

An entertaining and education way to learn more about homeless and at-risk youth—and support world missionary Rev. Joel Van Dyke—can be done by checking out the documentary film “Becoming Fools” scheduled to be shown at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 22, in the B.J. Haan Auditorium on the Dordt College campus.

It tells the story of Pastor Van Dyke’s friend, Italo Castro, a professional clown who was ministering to street kids in Guatemala. Then tragedy strikes.

Watching such a film would be a great opportunity for an evangelism or a missions committee or a study group to be introduced to the issues that could begin a discussion about how God might be calling them to be involved, according to instructor of digital media production Mark Volkers.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Learn more about this event by visiting
