Mooers Signs with Dordt College Soccer and Golf

Danny Mooers, a senior at PACT Charter School, recently announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defenders' soccer and golf teams.

Mooers, a 5'11", 155 pound central midfielder and forward for the Panthers, is a four year varsity starter that tallied 22 goals and 36 assists, helping PACT Charter to a fourth place finish in the conference in 2013.  Mooers was a 1st team all-conference selection his junior and senior year and was also voted the team's most valuable player in 2013.  Mooers captained the squad the past two seasons and was an all-state nominee this season.

Mooers also played club soccer for the North Metro Soccer Association for two years and eleven years for the Northern Lights Soccer Club, averaging 13 goals and 8 assists per year since high school and was a state tournament participant.  

Mooers has competed in varsity golf since the seventh grade and was an all-conference honorable mention in tenth and eleventh grade.  Mooers, a two-time medalist, served as the captain of the team as a junior and senior. Mooers helped the Panthers to a third place finish in their section in 2012.

Mooers was also a four year varsity starter in basketball at PACT.

Danny is the son of Mick and Julie Mooers of Nowthen, Minnesota and he plans to major in Criminal Justice and minor in Music Performance (Piano).

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. Dordt’s athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).

U.S. News & World Report,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,400 students.
