Dordt Holds No. 5 Spot In Poll

(Wednesday, January 15; Sioux Center, Iowa)  The Dordt College Defender men’s basketball team held at the no. 5 spot in the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll released late Tuesday, January 14.

The Defenders went 1-1 last week and hold a 17-2 record heading into play Wednesday night against Northwestern.  Dordt is scheduled to travel to Crete, Nebraska on Saturday, January 18 when it faces the Doane Tigers.

Dordt took 322 points in the polling and Saint Xavier (Illinois) is spot in front of the Defenders with 333 points.  Midland dropped one spot to no. 9 and Hastings fell two spots to no. 19.  Morningside and Briar Cliff are both in the receiving votes portion of the poll.

This poll proved to very volatile with only four teams holding the same spot they held in the previous voting.

Embry Riddle (Florida) took ten first place votes and is the no. 1 team in the poll for the fourth straight week.
