Jack clipped at Cornstalk
May 7, 2003

The highlight of Cornstalk 2003 was the clipping of Jack Maatman, who sacrificed his 26-inch long dreadlocks in exchange for more than $3100 raised for the James Klaver Leukemia Treatment Fund. Both are students at Dordt.
Doing the deed Saturday, May 3, were the East Hall RA’s, who raised the most money for the cause with an iced fruit drink fund-raiser.
Jack said the last time he had a haircut was about five years ago, when he was a sophomore in high school.
Other outdoor events throughout the day included bands, food and an All-Star dunk tank. Professors and administrators taking a dunk included Dave Schelhaas, Roger Henderson, John Visser, Simon du Toit, Paul Fessler, Ken Boersma, Rockne McCarthy, Jim Schaap, James Mahaffy and Chris Rehn.
