Heartland Christian Schools hosts 2013 Christian Educatorsí Convention

Heartland Christian Schools will host its annual Christian Educators’ Convention on Thursday and Friday, October 3 and 4. The convention, themed “Go Against the Flow” (based on Romans 12), opens on Thursday at 9:45 a.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium on the campus of Dordt College.

Chad Dirkse, president of Chattanooga Christian School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, will deliver keynote addresses on both Thursday and Friday mornings titled “A Means to What End” and “Finding God’s Glory in a Future of Uncertainty.” There will also be more than 65 breakout sessions available by presenters from the area and from Michigan, Wyoming, and California. Topics range from science to foreign language to setting goals for special needs learners. Sessions are available for preschool teachers through high school teachers.

The convention committee anticipates 500 educators will attend from South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska. Heartland Christian Schools is a network of 24 member Christian Schools who work together to educate, inspire, and promote the cause of Christian education.
