Thought-provoking theater at Dordt April 24-26

Dordt College Repertory Theatre will present, “An Appearance of the Blessed Virgin at a Brookline Health Clinic,” Thursday though Saturday, April 24-26, at the New World Theater, on the campus of Dordt College. Theatre

The play juxtaposes a contemporary young woman with flashbacks to Mary, the mother of Jesus, exploring how each deal with the unexpected prospect of pregnancy. The play was written by Christopher Greco, who holds an MFA in playwriting and is a pastor at the Cambridge Vineyard in Boston, Mass. Greco and his wife, Dorothy, also coordinate a Living Waters program for the sexually and relationally broken. The play will be directed and produced in a movement theatre style, inspired by the work of director Anne Bogart.

Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. each evening. Reservations for the limited seating can be made by calling the box office at (712) 722-6430. Box office hours are Monday through Friday, 1-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, beginning April 21.

The repertory company will be touring with this production to schools in the Pacific Northwest in May.

Student in the cast are Jonathan Horlings, Jennifer Kenoyer, Beth Knight, Ethan Koerner, Mike Koetsier, Krista Krygsman, Dan Oldenkamp, Rachel Persenaire, Justin Vande Kerk, and Tara Warolin.
