Organ, Piano Recital April 24

Jeremy Van Dyke and Mark Jansen will perform in concert on Thursday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the B. J. Haan Auditorium. The public is invited to the recital and a reception following the performance. Recital

Jeremy Van Dyke, a senior from Leota, Minn., will perform on the organ. A two-year Bloemendaal Organ Scholarship recipient, Van Dyke has selected pieces from a wide range of time periods for variety in style, energy and the peace that they promote in the listener. Composers for his repertoire include J. S. Bach, Max Reder, Cesar Franck and Calvin Hampton. Jeremy’s organ instructor is Dr. Joan Ringerwole. He will be graduating in May with majors in the Pre-medical Program and Psychology.

Mark Jansen, a junior with a major in Piano Performance and Pedagogy, will perform on the piano. The son of Harvey and Gail Jansen, Tucson, Ariz., Mark will be performing works by Prokofiev, Bach, Debussy, and Liszt, as well as his own original composition. Jansen’s piano instructor is also Dr. Joan Ringerwole. Jansen has received two meritorious awards for writing the musical scores for two Dordt plays, “The Glass Menagerie” and “Nothing Sacred.”

There is no cost to attend this recital.
