Women's Golf In Mitchell on Friday and Saturday

Meet… Dordt will compete in the two day Palace City Classic hosted by Dakota Wesleyan on Friday and Saturday, September 21 and 22.  One day will be played at Lakeview, a par-27, 5,890 yard course and the other day will be played at Wild Oak which is also a par-72 layout and is 5,874 in length.

Participants…

Last Year… The Dordt College Defender golf team placed sixth out of ten teams at the Palace City Classic hosted by Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell, South Dakota.

Renae Visser and Micayla Weaver paced the Defenders with a 178 and 179 respectively for 13th and 15th overall.

The meet was the final tuneup of the season before GPAC Qualifier #2. Kim Brumfield and Justean De Groot shot 191 and 201 respectively. Day two of the event was played at Wild Oak with par set at 72 and was 5874 yards in length.

Dani Ballet led Dakota Wesleyan to the team title with a two day total of 148.

Last Time Out… Dordt College placed sixth after day one of the GPAC Qualifying event held at Landsmeer in Orange City, Iowa. The Defenders shot a 390 and were eight shots out of third place in a hotly contested race in hot windy conditions.

Dordt was paced by Renae Visser with an 8th place total of 89. Kim Brumfield had a 94 which was 13th after day one.

Dakota Wesleyan (352) has a two stroke advantage over Northwestern (354) after one round. Both teams were paced by round medalists as Lauren Fitts and Emma Wynja each shot 84's.

The Lineup… Dordt College has six golfers who saw action last week.  Kim Brumfeld went low with a 93 while Raeanne De Rousse and Brittany Clausen broke 100 with a 98 and 99 respectively.

After This…Dordt will play in the Doane Invite on Monday and Tuesday, September 24 and 25 in the final competition before GPAC Qualifier #2 on Wednesday, October 3.
