Women's Cross Country In Poll

(Thursday, August 23; Sioux Center, Iowa)  The Dordt College women’s cross country team opens the 2012 season as the No. 15 ranked team in the NAIA.

The Defenders are one of seven teams in this year’s preseason NAIA poll not rated in the final top-25 2011 poll.  Dordt totaled 321 points in the poll and are one of two GPAC teams in the poll with Concordia at No. 10.  The poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences/independents/unaffiliated groups.

Dordt College returns six of their top seven runners from a team that placed fourth at the GPAC Championship last season.

The Defenders will open the 2012 season at a meet hosted by Augustana in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Friday, August 31.
