Dordt Has All-Americans In Seven Events

(Tuesday, May 29; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Dordt College had All-American performances in seven events at the NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Indiana Wesleyan in Marion, Indiana May 24-26.  Athletes and relay teams finishing in the top-eight at the National Championships are considered All-Americans.

Crystal Vander Zee (Senior; South Holland, Illinios) earned a pair of top-eight finishes with a fourth place finish in the long jump and an seventh place performance in the triple jump.  Vander Zee jumped 19-6.75 in the long jump and had a best of 37-10.75 in the triple jump.

Briana Vander Woude (Junior; Clara City, Minnesota) followed her runner-up finish in the pentathlon at the 2012 Indoor Championships with a runner-up finish in the heptathlon at the Outdoor Championships with a total of 5,096 points.

Katie Bonnema (Sophomore; Ireton, Iowa) claimed sixth in the 400 meters with a time of :54.80.

Christy Sikkema (Sophomore; Ridgetown, Ontario) finished eighth in the triple jump with a 37-10.5 performance.

Nic Pfeifle (Junior, Edgerton, Minnesota) claimed sixth in the 400 meters with a time of :46.96.  Pfeifle then teamed with Joe Lammers (Senior; Centennial, Colorado), Aaron Floen (Junior; Sioux Center, Iowa) and Trevor Wolterstorff (Junior; Sioux Center, Iowa) for a fifth place finish of 3:12.51.
