Nearly 700 students will perform in the biennial High School Choral Festival hosted by Dordt College on Friday, April 13, at 7 p.m.

The festival features individual performances in the B.J. Haan Auditorium from the Dordt College Chorale and Concert Choir, along with 10 Christian high school choirs including Western, Unity, Pella, Southwest, Dakota, Sioux Falls, Central Wisconsin, Rapid City, Covenant (Grand Rapids, Michigan), and Central Minnesota.

The event culminates in the De Witt Gymnasium with a mass choir performance of “The Last Words of David” by Randall Thompson, “Surely He Hath Borne Our Griefs” by Karl H. Graun, “How Can I Keep from Singing” arranged by Taylor Davis, and “Battle Hymn of the Republic” arranged by Peter Wilhousky and accompanied by the Dordt College Concert Band. The mass choir will also sing “I Love to Tell the Story” as arranged by Dordt College Choral Director Benjamin Kornelis, produced especially for this event.
