Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser for Dordt College’s orchestra tour in Europe

March 30, 2012

Come enjoy an Italian classic – spaghetti – to help the Dordt College Chamber Orchestra raise money for its musical tour through Europe in May.

A Spaghetti Dinner, complete with garlic bread, will be served by the orchestra on Wednesday, April 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. at First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center. Freewill donations will be received.

This will be the orchestra’s first trip to Europe since 1999, and the 32 members and Director Bradley Miedema hope to visit and share their musical talents in Germany, France, and the Netherlands. The travel schedule will focus on several places that were instrumental during the Reformation, including Heidelberg, Eisenach, and Wittenberg. Of course, no trip to Europe for a Dordt College ensemble would be complete without a stop in Dordrecht. It was there that the Canons of Dordt were written, an event that inspired the naming of Dordt College.
