Women's Basketball Pair Take Honors

(Monday, March 12; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Two Dordt College Defender women’s basketball players were named 2012 Division II Women’s Basketball Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes today in a release from the NAIA home office in Kansas City.

Brianna Spronk, a junior from Edgerton, Minnesota, claims the honor after averaging 10.1 points per game for the Defenders this season while taking down 5.8 rebounds.  Spronk is a health-human performance and psychology major.

Bailey Spencer, a senior from Prairie Village, Kansas, earns the honor for the second time after appearing in 28 games while scoring 2.8 points per game.  Spencer is an elementary education major.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
