March 12, 2012

The Dordt College Concert Choir will present its Tour Homecoming Concert at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 23, in the B.J. Haan Auditorium.

The concert concludes a five-state music tour, with performances in Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. The choir will perform a variety of pieces including Charles Hubert Hastings Parry’s “I Was Glad,” Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “The Old Hundredth Psalm Tune,” and Beethoven’s “Hallelujah” from The Mount of Olives.

The 50-person choir will perform under the direction of Dr. Benjamin Kornelis. Free-will donations received will help defray tour expenses.

Dordt College has approximately 300 U.S. and international students who participate in the music program, with opportunities to perform in four choral groups, two orchestras, and three bands. Music scholarships are available to qualified students. Visit www.dordt.edu/music to learn more.
