Building blocks of discovery and learning: Participate, learn, and celebrate March 3 at Dordt College

February 28, 2012

Legos and learning go hand-in-hand at the SET (Science, Engineering, and Technology) event to be held at the Dordt College Science and Technology Center on Saturday, March 3, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event is open to parents, students 4th grade and above, and business partners interested in exploring and encouraging others about the emerging opportunities in science, technology, and robotics.

Area FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams representing five counties will talk about their FLL experiences, Dordt College engineering professors and students will showcase their engineering projects, and 4-H staff will introduce GEAR Tech robotics and share exciting opportunities planned for 4-H.

From 11:30 a.m. to noon, there will be a Celebration and Recognition Ceremony highlighting each team's experience, and recognizing and thanking the people and business who partnered with, assisted, and sponsored these teams. The public is encouraged to attend the ceremony and celebrate the learning that is happening in 4-H, at Dordt College, and in Lego League. Don't miss this opportunity to learn how you, your child, or your business can be a part of the exciting things happening.

Please contact the Sioux County Extension Office at (712) 737-4230 and let them know if you plan to attend. For more information about 4-H in Sioux County and about how your child can participate or how you can become a 4-H volunteer, contact 4-H County Youth Coordinator, Cindy Cleveringa at
