Defender Basketball Adds Boer

February 16; Sioux Center, Iowa) J.D. Boer, a senior at Western Christian High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender basketball program.
Boer is averaging 9.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game for Western Christian and leads the Wolfpack with 62 assists and has converted 50 percent of his field goals and 35 percent of his three-point tries. Boer was a part of a state championship team in 2010 and a state runner-up team in 2011. He also earned all-district honors in football at quarterback and was an academic all-district pick in that sport as well. Boer was a basketball second-team all-Lakes Conference selection this year.
“We are very pleased JD has decided to join our program. He has had an excellent senior season and comes from a high school program at Western Christian where he has experienced a great deal of success under Coach Eekhoff,” said Dordt College coach Ross Douma. “J.D. has grown up around the game of basketball and knows what it takes be a good player. We look forward to seeing him develop during his time at Dordt College.”
J.D. is the son of Jerry and Lavonne Boer of Hull, Iowa.
