GPAC Baseball Poll Released

(Tuesday, February 1; Sioux Center, Iowa)  The 2012 Great Plains Athletic Conference Baseball Coaches’ Poll has been released for the upcoming season.

The Doane Tigers are the favorites after being part of a three-way tie for the championship in 2011 and took eight first place votes.  Northwestern is picked second in the poll with three first place votes.  The Dordt College Defenders are eleventh in the poll.

The GPAC baseball season will consist of 20 games (10 doubleheaders) and concludes with the GPAC Postseason Tournament May 3-5 in Lincoln, Nebraska at Haymarket Park and Sherman Field.

Points for the poll were assigned on a 10-1 basis and coaches couldn’t vote for their own team.
