Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Dordt College
November 18, 2011
Oh,
Christmas tree, oh Christmas, tree! How lovely are your branches. And on Tuesday, November 29, the lovely evergreen tree standing to the north of the Dordt College Campus Center in front of the Eckardt Lounge will be lit.
The ceremony begins with the magnificent chiming of the clock tower, followed by a Christmas sing-along led by the Dordt College Concert Choir, directed by Dr. Benjamin Kornelis. Both campus and community members are invited to join in the festivities beginning at 7 p.m. Hot chocolate will be served by the student symposium and residence life staff.
“This is the first of what I hope will be an annual tree lighting tradition for the campus,” said Bethany Schuttinga, vice president for student services and associate provost for co-curricular programs.
Donations made this event possible.
