Campus, jazz band to perform

The Dordt College Campus Band and Jazz Band will perform Saturday, March 1 at 7 p.m. at the B.J. Haan Auditorium.

The Jazz Band, directed by Norman Gaines, will begin their portion of the concert with Hola, Senor, Loco, followed by Iíll Never Stop Loving You, featuring vocalist Rachel Persenaire and a flugel horn solo by David Hjelle. Margaret Den Boer and Lori Phillipsen on the saxophone and trumpet will be soloists in Pennsylvania 6-500, while drummer Scott Dunwoody and tenor sax player Heidi Vander Vies will be featured soloists in Cute. Also on the program is Satin Doll and Disorderly Conduct, with soloists Anastasha Kamps and Kevin Herdegen on the trombone and trumpet.

Also performing March 1 is the Dordt College Campus Band, under the direction of Julie Hulstein. There is no admission fee for the concert. A freewill offering will be taken to support the music program at Dordt College. The public is encouraged to attend and enjoy the wide variety of music.
