Encouraging report for Dordt
February 7, 2003
With the spring semester now underway, Dordt College officials are pleased to announce that the fall-to-spring retention rate at the college has continued an upward trend. This semester 94.6 percent of undergraduate first semester students returned to complete the 2003 school year at Dordt. This represents an increase from the 94.2 percent retention rate for spring, 2002, and the previous spring’s retention rate of 92.8 percent.
The preliminary enrollment report indicates a student enrollment of 1,294 for the spring semester. While colleges normally experience a slight drop in student enrollment from the fall to the spring semester, Dordt’s retention rate has been encouraging. Spring enrollment was also bolstered by twice as many transfer and returning students (after time away from college) as the previous year.
