UPDATE: Michele Bachmann will teleconference from DC to address rally

Prominent GOP candidate Michele Bachmann was scheduled to visit Sioux Center this weekend for a rally/townhall meeting. The meeting was to be held Saturday, July 30, in the Dordt College Campus Center around 3 p.m., following an earlier appearance in Sioux City.

UPDATE: Bachmann was called back to Washington, DC, for a vote on the debt ceiling legislation, and she plans to call in to speak to supporters. Instead of a townhall meeting inside, the campaign will gather outside near parking lot 5, behind the Campus Center. 

Dordt College is not sponsoring the event but has a history of hosting candidates for public office as a way to promote civic awareness and political engagement by Christians.
