The marimba and snare drum will be featured in a percussion recital at Dordt College on Saturday, Feb. 1, 7:30 p.m. in the B. J. Haan Auditorium, sponsored by the Dordt College Music Department.
The featured soloist is Kelli Nelson, Omaha, Neb. Nelson will begin her recital with a marimba piece, “Sonata No. 1 in G minor, S. 1001,” by J.S. Bach. Other numbers include, “Ruffing Up a Storm” by John S. Pratt; “#2 from Douze Etudes pour Caisse-Claire” by Jacques Delecluse; and “Time for Marimba” by Minoru Miki.
