Christian Fanfare “De Lofstem” will perform on May 2

Christian Fanfare “De Lofstem” is a Christian fanfare band from Sumar, a village in Friesland, a northern province of the Netherlands. The band will present a 7:30 p.m. concert at the B.J. Haan Auditorium on Monday, May 2. There is no admission fee.

Christian Fanfare “De Lofstem” is an active band with 37 playing members. The instrumentation includes trumpets, flugelhorns, alto horns, trombones, euphoniums, tubas, a full complement of saxophones, and percussion. The band provides training for young students with the help of two teachers. In addition to the adult band, Christian Fanfare “De Lofstem” also has an enthusiastic youth band.

Then main goal of this ensemble is the joy of making music together. The band was founded in November of 1919. Since September of 2006, the band has been conducted by Christina Van der Bijl.
