2003 Distinguished Alumnus selected
January 23, 2003
Dordt College alumnus Randy Kroll (’80) has been named the college’s 2003 Distinguished Alumnus for Homecoming 2003.
Kroll will be the guest of honor and featured speaker at the alumni banquet Friday, Feb. 7, 6:30 p.m. in the Campus Center De Yager Activity Area.
The Distinguished Alumni Series recognizes alumni who exemplify Dordt College’s commitment to service and are able to make a valuable contribution to the campus community.
Kroll received his degree in business administration from Dordt College in 1980, then began his career as a CPA with a position at Wilkerson, Guthmann and Johnson, Ltd., in St. Paul, Minn. He has since become a shareholder in the company and was named president of the firm in 2000. He specializes in working with not-for-profit organizations.
Randy’s faith has shaped the way he does business, and his greatest delight comes in helping individuals and organizations get beyond the bottom line to make lifestyle and organizational decisions that make a difference. He is an active member of Faith Christian Reformed Church in New Brighton, Minn. and is involved in various diaconal ministries from a local to denominational level. He currently serves as the president of the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee, and helped develop a mission fund called “Faith Promise” to support missionaries in short-term mission projects.
Moving beyond his leadership within his church, Kroll developed a mentoring program with the St. Paul Union Gospel Mission; helped found a Bethany Christian Service office in Minneapolis; has served on the board and as board president for Calvin Christian School in Edina; and is currently heading a task force to establish a Christian high school in the Twin Cities. He also serves on the alumnus board at Dordt College.
To reserve a seat at the Alumni Banquet, call the Dordt College Advancement Office at (712) 722-6022 by February 3 or register at www.dordt.edu/events/homecoming/registration.shtml. The cost to attend the dinner is $10.
