Dordt students present biology research and proposals

The Dordt College biology department is hosting its annual Senior Research Presentations on Wednesday, April 27, at 6:30 p.m. in the Science and Technology Center lecture hall SB108. The public is welcome to attend.

The schedule of presentation is as follows:
• 6:30: Ryan Brumfield (Kent, Wash.) presents “The spread of flea beetles on leafy spurge”
• 6:45: Joe Lammers (Centennial, Colo.) presents “Expression of notch signaling components during mouse testes development”
• 7 p.m: Zack Petersen (Andover, Minn.) presents “Contributing factors to habitat suitability for Spiza Americana
• 7:15: Austin Spronk (Edgerton, Minn.) presents “Using microsatellites to analyze population genetics of bald eagles”
• 7:30: Doug Veldhuisen (Emo, Ontario) presents “Synthetic peptides and canine parvovirus binding inhibition”
• 7:50: Travis Nykamp (Edgerton, Minn.) presents “Comparing diets of bald eagles near Yankton, S.D., and Rock Valley, Iowa”
• 8:10: Matt Schippers (West Olive, Mich.) presents “Analysis of the Intrarenal Renin-Angiotensin System in PKD1 Mice
• 8:30: Seth Vande Kamp (Lee Summit, Mo.) presents “A comparison of Drosophila melongaster and Colossobruchus maculatus development using D. melanogaster antibodies
• 8:50: Sarah Seymour (Chula Vista, Calif.) presents “A comparison on the inhibition of microbial growth by A. canadense and A. sativum
