Wolterstorff Claims All-American Honor

(Thursday, March 17; Sioux Center, Iowa) Trevor Wolterstorff (Sophomore; Sioux Center, Iowa) has earned NAIA Division II Third-Team All-American basketball honors for the 2010-2011 season.

Wolterstorff claimed the honor after averaging 16.0 points per game with 5.3 rebounds and made 52.5 percent of his shots from the floor this season. He also averaged 2.0 assists per game and 1.0 steals per contest and was a First-Team All-Great Plains Athletic Conference pick this year after taking Second-Team honors in 2009-2010.

Wolterstorff helped the Defenders to a 19-12 record this season and a berth in the Great Plains Athletic Conference post-season tournament title game. Wolterstorff is the third Dordt College men’s basketball player to earn NAIA All-American honors. Greg Van Soelen was a three time pick in 1986, 1987 and 1988 and Luke Ruter was a third-team pick in 2006.
