Dordt College Concert Band and Chamber Orchestra to perform home tour concert

The Dordt College Concert Band and Orchestra will present their home tour concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 25, in the B.J. Haan Auditorium.

This free concert is the conclusion of a music tour to seven states and one Canadian province. Performance locations include Iowa, Indiana, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois, and Ontario, Canada.

The 48-person band and 21-person orchestra will perform a variety of pieces under the direction of Bradley Miedema. Free-will donations received will help defray tour expenses.

Dordt College has approximately 300 U.S. and international students who participate in the music program, with opportunities to perform in four choral groups, two orchestras, and three bands. Music scholarships are available to qualified students.

Dordt College is a comprehensive Reformed, Christian college in Sioux Center, Iowa. Dordt is ranked third on the 2011 list of Best Regional Colleges in the Midwest, marking the 19th year in a row Dordt has been on the list and the seventh time the college has placed in the top ten. At Dordt, 98 percent of enrolled students receive financial aid, thanks in part to generous alumni committed to the mission of the college.

Dordt offers more than 90 programs of study to a student body of over 1,300, who represent 33 states and 16 countries.
