Eric Spoelstra presents vocal recital March 4

Eric Spoelstra presents a vocal recital in the B.J. Haan Auditorium on Friday, March 4, at 3 p.m. Spoelstra is a Dordt College junior from San Marcos, Calif., and is majoring in history with a minor in English literature.

The recital will include Mozart arias, a set of romantic pieces by Stefano Donaudy and Francesco Paolo Tosti, and contemporary English songs. He will be accompanied on piano by Nancy Vermeer. 

“My favorite is probably the set of contemporary English songs by Ricky Ian Gordon and John Duke,” said Spoelstra. “All three of these songs are based on poems and have great words and music that fits wonderfully.”

A reception will immediately follow the recital. The event is free and open to the public.
