Campus-Community Band and Jazz Band to perform March 4

The community is invited to a 7:30 p.m. Campus-Community Band and Jazz Band concert Friday, March 4, in the B.J. Haan Auditiorum.

Under the direction of Bradley Miedema, the Campus-Community Band will perform works by Leroy Anderson, Percy Grainger, William Latham, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and a stirring arrangement of the doxology by Ed Huckeby. The Jazz Band, directed by Scott Olson, will perform pieces by Marvin Fisher, Elton John, and Walter Becker and Donald Fagen.

The performance is free, with a freewill offering received to benefit music scholarships at Dordt College.

Dordt College has approximately 300 U.S. and international students who participate in the music program, with opportunities to perform in four choral groups, two orchestras, and three bands. Music scholarships are available to qualified students. Dordt College is a comprehensive Reformed, Christian college located at 498 Fourth Ave NE in Sioux Center, Iowa.
