Author of “Every Man’s Battle” series to speak Feb. 23

February 14, 2011

On television, in the movies, all over the internet, even plastered on billboards—sensual images are everywhere. Though the temptation to lust is unavoidable, it is possible to rise above the temptation. Fred Stoeker, author of the Every Man’s Battle book series, does not make excuses for roving eyes and lustful hearts. Instead, he helps men understand ways to tackle the trap of sexual immorality.

Stoeker will speak on the topic “Understanding Every Man’s Battle” at the B.J. Haan Auditorium on Wednesday, Feb. 23. Men are invited to the 7 p.m. event, with a follow-up discussion and resource room immediately following in the Campus Center at Dordt College. Women are invited to the 8:30 p.m. event in the B.J. Haan Auditorium the same evening.

Stoeker is a best-selling author and conference speaker who challenges men to become sexually pure in their dating relationships and their marriages and to reconnect in true intimate relationship with their wives. He also charges fathers to train their sons and daughter to be pure and teaches the importance of the father-child relationship in the battle for sexual purity. Stoeker is a graduate of Stanford University. He and his wife of 29 years, Brenda, live in the Des Moines, Iowa, area.
