Day of Encouragement scheduled for Feb. 5

January 17, 2011

The annual Day of Encouragement, sponsored by Dordt College, will be held Feb. 5. This event is a day that will inspire, encourage, and equip God’s people for ministry. Fellowship and workshops are open for elders, pastors, care givers, deacons, youth leaders, and church members. The day will begin with a keynote address in the B.J. Haan Auditorium on the Dordt College campus. Breakout sessions will follow in the Ribbens Academic Complex on campus.

In the opening keynote address, “Heroes in the Eyes of God,” Rev. Jul Medenblik will show how the story of Elisha, Namaan, and the “unnamed servants” illustrates how God works through the seemingly ordinary people and moments of life. Medenblik is the founding pastor of New Life Christian Reformed Church of New Lenox, Ill. and the church planting and development point team leader for Christian Reformed Home Missions. He was recently appointed president of Calvin Theological Seminary. His appointment begins on August 1, 2011.
