Campus-Community Band and Jazz Band performance Dec. 3

The Dordt College Campus-Community Band and Jazz Band will be performing Friday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium.

The Campus-Community Band, conducted by Bradley Miedema, will begin the concert with selections by Bach, Bryant, Grundman, and Vaughan Williams. There will also be an energetic setting of the Burgundian carol “Patapan” by Minnesota composer Shelley Hanson. The entertaining big band sounds of Dordt’s Jazz Band, conducted by Scott Olson, will complete the program.

The performance is free, with a freewill offering received to benefit music scholarships at Dordt College.

Dordt College has approximately 300 U.S. and international students who participate in the music program, with opportunities to perform in four choral groups, two orchestras, and three bands. Music scholarships are available to qualified students. Dordt College is a comprehensive Reformed, Christian college located at 498 Fourth Ave NE in Sioux Center, Iowa.
