PLIA soup supper Dec. 3 at Dordt's West Commons

December 1, 2010

A soup supper to benefit student mission trips will be held Friday, Dec. 3, from 5-7 p.m. in Dordt College’s West Commons. Supper guests are invited to stay for a 7:30 p.m. winter concert in the B. J. Haan Auditorium, featuring the Concert Band, Jazz Band, and the Campus-Community Band.

The soup supper is sponsored by PLIA (Putting Love Into Action), which last year organized 140 student mission volunteers to serve in 13 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada during their spring break. The goals of PLIA are to share Christ’s love with people in diverse communities; to challenge participants to adopt a more service-oriented lifestyle; and to assist and encourage the growth of ministry centers with which they work.

Soup, sandwiches, and desserts will be served. Free will donations will be accepted with proceeds supporting the spring break mission trips. Donations of pie are also appreciated and can be made by contacting Evonne Sirois at or 722-6668.
