Missionary in Zambia to speak at Dordt

September 15, 2010

Eli Toribio, a missionary in Southern Africa with the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee, will speak at Dordt College on Wednesday, Sept. 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the Science and Technology lecture hall SB 101.

Eli and his wife Evelyn live in Lusaka, Zambia, where he is involved in agricultural missions, teaching farmers how to support their families with sustainable tropical agriculture.

This year’s participants in Dordt College’s two-week summer course, “Serving and Learning in Southern Africa,” stayed with the Toribios and their two children, Ian and Nadine. A partnership with Northrise University in Zambia has also offered Dordt professors Ron Vos and Tom Wolthuis the opportunity to teach summer courses and offer Christian education opportunities in South Africa.

The public is welcome to come and hear about the ongoing mission work happening in Zambia.
