Dordt to host town hall meeting August 19

Dordt College will host a live broadcast of a town hall style meeting with Congressman Steve King (R-IA) on Thursday, August 19, at 10 a.m. The event will be held in the DeYager Activity Center, located in the Campus Center building.

King, who represents Iowa’s Fifth Congressional District, will share the microphone with Dr. Carl Zylstra, president of Dordt College.

Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions, and callers may also submit questions by phone during the event at 712-722-0885 or 800-845-0885.

Emailed questions are also welcome at beginning on Tuesday, August 17 ,and ending at 10:30 a.m. on August 19.

King said he is excited about the opportunity to join Dr. Zylstra for the radio town hall meeting, adding that this format allows a great degree of flexibility for people who wish to participate. He invited anyone unable to attend the event to call or e-mail their questions in advance. King said, “I look forward to talking with you on August 19.”

Dr. Zylstra’s weekly radio show “Conversations” is regularly scheduled on Fridays at 8 a.m., broadcasting from KDCR FM, a Christian radio station located on the campus of Dordt College. Past broadcasts and upcoming guests may be seen under the programming link at
