Soup supper Dec. 4 at West Commons
November 30, 2009
A soup supper to benefit student mission trips will be held Friday, Dec. 4, from 5-7 p.m. in Dordt College’s West Commons. Supper guests are invited to stay for a 7:30 p.m. winter concert in the B. J. Haan Auditorium, featuring the Chamber Orchestra, Jazz Band and the Campus-Community Band.
The soup supper is sponsored by PLIA (Putting Love Into Action), which last year organized 100 student mission volunteers to serve in 11 locations in the U.S. and Canada during their spring break. The goal of PLIA is to share Christ’s love with people in diverse communities; to challenge participants to adopt a more service-oriented lifestyle; and to assist and encourage the growth of ministry centers with which they work.
Soup, sandwiches, and desserts will be served, with all proceeds used to support the spring break mission trips.
