July 13, 2009

Iowa Private College Week

It’s free, fun, and can save you money: Iowa Private College Week is your opportunity to get tours of 28 non-profit, private college campuses, including Dordt College in Sioux Center.

From August 3 through August 7 (Monday through Friday) Dordt College invites high school students and parents to stop in at the Admissions Office in the Campus Center at 9 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Tours will be given daily at these times. Participants will be able to visit with admissions counselors and current Dordt College students to ask questions regarding the college decision process and life as a Dordt College student. Refreshments will also be served.

Iowa Private College Week has been sponsored by the Iowa Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (IAICU) for 11 years. Prospective students receive a IPCW passport that is stamped at each campus visited.

If your passport is stamped at three or more campuses (maximum of two campuses per day), you will be eligible to win one of two bookstore vouchers worth $500 each. Students who visit during IPCW, collect the required three or more passport stamps, and then apply and enroll, will be eligible to win one of the $500 vouchers. Dordt will also waive your enrollment application fee with a stamped passport.

Students may pre-register to indicate the day and time they will be coming by calling the Dordt College Admissions department at 722-6080, or toll-free at 1-800-343-6738 (option 1). Individual campus tours may also be arranged by calling this number, or you can request the schedule of group tours offered throughout the ’09-’10 school year.

To pre-register for other Iowa Private College Week tours, go to http://www.ThinkIndependently.com and use toll free numbers listed there to register with a specific college or university.

Dordt College offers a top quality, faith based, and affordable education to all students committed to taking their place in God’s world. In the 2009 U.S. News & World Report rankings, Dordt College was among the best (#6) and best values (#8 on the “Great Schools, Great Prices” list) for Midwest Baccalaureate Colleges.
