Dordt Discovery Days

Dordt Discovery Days brought 206 junior high students to the campus of Dordt College for the academic camp, held June 22-26.

This year’s theme was “Hair-Raising Discovery.” The week-long event is offered annually for students who have completed sixth, seventh, or eighth grade, with most classes taught by Dordt College professors or alumni, and participants invited to stay in college housing.

Discovery Day participants chose from a variety of classes in music, theater, art, sports, and other interests. This year’s camp offered 30 classes. New offerings this year included Money Madness (being a smart consumer); Cooking with Karen, and How It’s Made (tours of area manufacturing facilities).

A Discovery Days photo album is posted here.

Participants came from Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, California, Colorado, Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, Ohio, Washington, Wisconsin, and Ontario, Canada.

Sixth through eighth graders interested in attending next year’s Discovery Days should email for more information.
