Senior art show now through March 28

Senior Art

A senior art show is on display through March 28 at the Dordt College Campus Center Art Gallery. A closing reception for the upcoming graduates will be held Friday, March 27, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Students will discuss their work during the final hour of the reception.

Featured in the first of three senior shows are Tricia Schiebout, Sioux Center, IA; Lance Nieuwsma, Pella, IA; Nicole Wocik, Belle Plaine, MN; Danny Slager, Snohomish, WA; and Amanda (Locke) Hilbelink, Nashville, TN.

Tricia Schiebout will display fine art work including painting, drawing, and photography. Lance Nieuwsma specializes in graphic design and photography, and designed this year’s exhibit poster. Nicole Wojcik will show graphic design work, drawings, and prints. Dan Slager excelled in ceramic work and has been assisting on the column installation work for Dordt’s new Academic Complex with Professor Jake Van Wyk, scheduled for installation next fall. Amanda Hilbelink is currently completing a graphics and marketing internship in Nashville, TN, and will display graphic design work and printmaking examples in color linocut.

The public is invited to these free art exhibitions. The Campus Center Art Gallery is open every day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Dordt College offers art degrees with five different emphases: fine arts studio, graphic design, art history, teaching art, or pre-architecture.
