Dordt spring semester enrollment

January 22, 2009

Spring semester enrollment figures at Dordt College on opening day were almost identical to that of one year ago, with 1,172 full-time students in 2009, compared to 1,173 full-time students in January 2008. Add part-time students to the equation, however, and Dordt’s total enrollment jumped by 23 students over last spring, coming in at 1,260.

Nearly 40 students completed their bachelor degrees in December, which creates a slight enrollment dip when comparing fall and spring semesters.

Students enrolled at Dordt College this year are from more than 30 states and 19 other countries. The college also has a Master of Education program which regularly enrolls 40-50 part-time students, three of whom completed their degrees in December.

This year Dordt College was ranked among the best and most affordable colleges on the 2009 America’s Best Colleges U.S. News & World Report (USN&WR) rankings. On the Midwest Best list, Dordt placed sixth this year, marking the fifth year in the top 10, and the 16th year of being included among the best.

USN&WR also again named Dordt College on its “Great Schools, Great Prices” top 10 list, which is determined by comparing academic quality with average net cost of attendance.
