Psychology Student Research Conference Wed., Dec. 10

The 12th annual Dordt College Psychology Student Research Conference will be held Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 3:30 p.m. in the Campus Center’s Eckhardt Lounge. The public is invited to attend.
Presenters are nine students in an experimental psychology course taught by Dr. Sherri Lantinga. Participants designed original experiments, collected and analyzed data, and compiled their findings. Their PowerPoint presentations are:
- “Influence of Eating Norms on Food Selection in Young Girls,” by Rochelle Braunschweig (Randolph, WI) and Lynn Price (Sioux Center, IA);
- “The Effects of Training and Interrupted Attention on Computer Game Performance,” by Joshua De Haan (Sioux Center, IA) and Jessica Klopstra (Lacombe, AB);
- “This Will Make You Yawn: The Effect of Time and Reading on Yawning,” by Amber Wilson (Redfield, IA) and Rachel Engle (Long Beach, CA);
- “The Effects of Deception and Gender on Trust and Persistence,” by Benjamin De Nooy and Nathan Nikkel (Sully, IA) and Eric Nieuwsma (Oskaloosa, IA).
