The Dordt College Defender women's soccer team will host Park (Missouri) in the first round of the NAIA National Soccer Tournament on Saturday, November 22 in Sioux Center, Iowa at 1:00.

The Defenders earned a spot in the tournament by virtue of their Great Plains Athletic Conference regular season title.  The Defenders made it a clean sweep of the GPAC this season by also winning the post-season tournament.  Dordt is currently 18-1 and finished the year 12-0 in the conference and have an 18-game winning streak intact.

Park University is 14-1-2 at this point and won the Midlands Collegiate Conference regular season title and post-season tournament.  The Pirates were ranked #9 in the NAIA Coaches' Top-25 Poll released Sunday, November 16.  Park is seeded 14th in the tournament field while Dordt is unseeded.  The Defenders received ten points in the coaches' poll balloting.

The winner of Saturday’s game between Dordt and Park will advance to the 2008 NAIA National Tournament’s final site in Daytona Beach, Florida, hosted by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Saturday’s winner plays the winner of the first-round match-up between No. 3 Lee and Ohio Dominican.
