Dordt musicians in NATS competition

Eleven Dordt College vocalists performed in the Lewis and Clark Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competition November 3 and 4 at the University of Northern Iowa.

Advancing to the semi-final round were Nathan Groenendyk, Leighton, IA; Rachel Van Essen, Mitchell, Ontario; and Emily Hageman, Highlands Ranch, CO. They did not advance to the final honors round.

Other performers representing Dordt College in the event were Krista De Vries, Orange City, IA; Laurel Slice, Hull, IA; Jon Nederhoff, Wellsburg, IA; Corinne Campbell, Flasher, ND; Regina Groenendyk, Downs, KS; Sierra Tiegs, Caldwell, ID; Eric Spoelstra, Valley Center, CA; and Ana Mora Demestri, Asuncion, Paraguay. Accompanying the students to UNI were Dordt College Music Department adjuncts, Pam De Haan and Deb Vogel.
