Campus-Community Band

Adult and high school wind or percussion players interested in participating in Campus-Community Band at Dordt College are invited to this season’s first rehearsal Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m.

The band practices Thursday evenings from 7-9 p.m., and will participate in five concerts from October 17 through May 1.

The Dordt College Campus-Community Band is dedicated to the study and performance of significant literature for winds and percussion. Since 2003 the membership has included college students, community adults, and outstanding high school students who wish to supplement their study and performance of band music.

Bradley Miedema, director of instrumental music at Dordt College, conducts this band. He is also the conductor of the Dordt College Concert Band, the Chamber Orchestra, the Northwest Iowa Symphony Youth Orchestra, and serves as music director for the Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra.

Community adults with a good high school background are welcome to participate in the Campus-Community Band. High school players must have a recommendation from their high school band director. For more information and to sign up, call Mr. Miedema at 712-722-6204 by Friday, September 26.
